BLOGGERS WHO MADE MY YEAR

Without a doubt the greatest thing to come out of 2016 for me is Midnight and Lace. It's crazy to think that this time last year my lil home here was just an idea. I feel like I've been blogging for so much longer and that is down to the fantastic blogging community I've become a part of this year. I have had the opportunity to talk to and meet some wonderful bloggers that I've decided to showcase the blogs and bloggers that have made my year.

DEAR 2016

Dear 2016,
Well you haven’t been the greatest, have you? Don’t get me wrong some really great things have happened this year, but on the whole it’s kinda been one huge shit show.

CAN YOU DYE YOUR HAIR A FASHION COLOUR WITHOUT BLEACHING IT?

I love expressing myself through my appearance and I love having fun and doing something different with my look- so I decided I wanted to have a go at dyeing the ends of my hair green. However, my hair has always been pretty fine and thin and after speaking to my aunt/ hairdresser bleaching was out of the question. I couldn’t risk using bleach on my hair and ruining the condition it is in anymore. So I decided to experiment and see if there was any way I could get green hair without having to bleach it first.

TALES OF A GRINCH

I'm just not feelin Christmas this year. There. I said it! I have always loved Christmas but this year I just can't seem to find that festive spirit and I feel like the Grinch is my spirit animal. So I decided to make myself public enemy #1 and share what it is that makes me wish we didn't even celebrate Christmas at all.

WHY I'M BECOMING A TEACHER

I didn't always know that I wanted to teach, in fact there was a time where I couldn't think of anything worse than being stuck in education for the rest of my life.

LIFE UPDATE: WHAT'S BEEN GOING ON...

I didn't know whether I wanted to write this post. I didn't know whether I wanted to share my personal problems on here. But, when I started this blog I promised myself I would write about every part of my life- the good and the bad.

VERSATILE BLOGGER AWARD

So I was tagged in this post a few weeks ago and now that Blogoween is over I thought it would be the perfect time to post! I was nominated by the lovely Vee (thanks hun!) who I have been obsessing over ever since we met at the Bloggers Blog Awards!

MY BLOGGER GIRL GANG

I'm a huge fan of a girl gang. I love the idea of girls supporting one another and just being badass! There are so many bloggers out there absolutley killing it. I had the idea a few weeks ago to create a post all about who I would want in my girl gang- so here they are.

LEARNING TO LOVE MY LEAST FAVOURITE BITS

I have always struggled with self-confidence. I never feel good enough in anything I do and an area that really affects me is my personal body image. This isn't a post where I moan about being fat because I'm not and I personally don't believe anyone should be called "fat"- it's such an ugly word. However, I do have fat. Everyone does! This is about me learning to love the parts of my body that before I used to hate.

STAYING MOTIVATED IN WINTER

I think it's safe to say that we are now in Winter! The one think I struggle with in the colder months is resisting the urge to just turn myself into a blanket burrito and binge on Netflix. Motivation is so much harder to find when it's cold and dark out so I thought I 'd share some of my tips to help keep you motivated in the winter.

#GIFTCASEMADE

I love Christmas. It is without a doubt one of my favourite times of year. The thing I love the most about Christmas is being able to show the people around me some love. That is why for this post I have teamed up with the lovely people over at Casemade to bring some early Christmas joy to the most important person in my life- my mum.

WHAT IT'S LIKE GROWING UP AS A TWIN

Something you may or may not about me is that I am a twin. There is exactly one minute between my older sister Ellis and I. Although I'm really luck to say she is my best friend it doesn't mean we've always had the easiest of times!

THE TYPES OF GUYS YOU'LL FIND ON TINDER

I am very much single. So what is a girl's solution to being alone in the 21st century? Download Tinder of course! Now I'm no dating expert but I've been on Tinder long enough to know that there tend to be a few categories guys fall into.

WHY I WILL NEVER CALL MYSELF A BLOGGER

My name's Robyn and I have a blog but I'm not a blogger. Confused? Yeah, me too.

HALLOWEEN LOOKBOOK: LYDIA DEETZ

If you hadn't alread guessed I'm a huge fan of Lydia Deetz. She is my ultimate goth girl icon and I love the film Beetlejuice so much that I decided to try to recreate her iconic look.

HALLOWEEN

IT'S HALLOWEEN! Well not quite. But since Halloween falls on a Monday (2016 sucks guys) and I'm on my teaching placement, the most I'll be doing tomorrow night is marking and watching a Halloween film. So I thought for my final (almost!) post of Blogoween I would share with you what I've been doing to celebrate Halloween this week.

WHY I LOVE HALLOWEEN

So it's no surprise by now that I love Halloween! Halloween is less than a week away and I'm so excited but also kinda sad that Blogoween is nearly over :( I've loved sharing all about my favourite holiday with you and I hope that I've made y'all excited for Halloween. Today I thought I'd share with you why my love for Halloween is so strong!

HOW TO GET INTO THE HALLOWEEN SPIRIT

Hey there my ghoulish guys and girls. So it’s nearly Halloween and I’m in the midst of celebrating this spooktacular holiday! If you are not a Halloween fan or just seem to not be able to find your scary side this month, then fear not! I have created a list of my favourite Halloween activities to help get you into the Halloween spirit.

MY TOP 5 FILMS TO WATCH AT HALLOWEEN

One of my favourite things to do during Halloween is watch my favourite films! I'm not a fan of typical horror films as I sometimes think they're a bit in your face but that's just me! So here are my ultimate films to watch around this time of year.

HALLOWEEN COSTUMES: SORTED!

Halloween is fast approaching and I can already hear your cries "But Robyn, I haven't planned my costumes yet and time is running out!". Don't worry my ghoulish babes, this Halloween lover has worked her magic and found the perfect Halloween costumes to make you the devillish guy or gal at the ball!

HALLOWEEN PLAYLIST

Hey, witches! For today's post I have compiled some of my top tunes to help get you in the spooky spirit. So whether you plan on going out for Halloween, are carving a pumpkin or just going to stay home and watch scary movies, take a listen to my spooktacular playlist!

MAGICAL MAKEUP LOOKS

Halloween doesn't always have to mean being scary. Some people don't like being scary and making it look like they've been in a horrific accident and that's cool. What it doesn't mean is that you can't get into the Halloween spirit! Halloween is all about getting outside of your comfort zone and trying something new. For today's post I have tried to create two magical looks that hopefully will inspire you to get a little creative this month.

ADDING HALLOWEEN SPIRIT TO EVERYDAY MAKEUP

I am a fan of dark, spooky makeup all year round, however, during the run-up to Halloween I like to embrace the dark eye, extreme wing and deep lip colour. Here are my makeup essentials to help you embrace the Halloween spirit into your everyday makeup routine (without scaring any children!).

THE BLOGGERS BLOG AWARDS

So yesterday I went to my first bloggers event and it was everything! The Bloggers Blog Awards were held in Leeds and it was so much fun I can't quite describe it.

OCTOBER WISHLIST

Whatsup witches! So things about to get a little spooky over here at Midnight and Lace. Halloween is without a doubt my favourite holiday and I spend the entire month celebrating, which is why I have decided to dedicate pretty much all of my posts this month to my favourite day of the year! So what better way to kick off my month long Halloweenfest than to create a Halloween wish list, filled with all my fave gory goodness. I hope you all have a mystical month!

WHAT I'VE LEARNT FROM BLOGGING SO FAR

This is my last post of September and this week marks the 4 month anniversary of my blog! I'm still very much a newbie to the world of blogging and learning every day, but I thought I would share with you some of the things I've learnt so far.

MAKEUP FAVOURITES

Putting on my makeup is my favourite thing to do. I like to experiment with my makeup but like everyone have my favourite go to's to help make me look and feel my best.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH CUSTOMER CARE: PULL AND BEAR

For me a main factor for why I shop with a particular brand is as a result of their customer service. When I am shopping with any brand I like to feel like my experience and satisfaction when shopping matters. That's why I decided to create this series, to share my experience with customer services when I've had to.

SO I BROUGHT A WIG

I've always loved unusually beautiful hair and for as long as I can remember I have wanted to dye mine blue. However, I have work commitments that mean I can't have my dream of blue hair. Throw in the fact that I've been dying my hair black for the past three years and the condition of my hair, I don't want to risk bleaching! So I decided to buy a wig.

MINI CLOTHES HAUL: A/W BUYS

Autumn is right around the corner and I can already feel the temperature beginning to drop and the heat of summer becoming a fond memory.

SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL GIRL GANG

What do you think of when you hear girl power? The Spice Girls, a trend, feminists?
The new wave of feminism has shifted to a focus on girl power. Whatever your opinions are of feminism and whether it is a positive or counter-productive movement, there is something really empowering behind the idea of girls supporting girls.

THE VINTAGE CARNIVAL

I am a vintage lover. I love the fashion and music of different eras. Yesterday I went to The Vintage Carnival held in my hometown of Nottingham. The carnival had a little bit of everything vintage including; shopping, food, cars and music. Despite the rain, we were determined not to let it ruin all our vintage fun!

ULTIMATE BACK TO COLLEGE/ UNI WISHLIST

Okay so summer is nearly over *cries* and you are all probably preparing to start back at college/ uni. This can mean only one thing- buying new supplies! This is kinda bittersweet as it's gonna be the last time I'll be a student *sobs*.

WHAT I'D TELL ME TEENAGE SELF.

So this week I turned 20 and along with mourning the fact I will no longer be a teenage dirtbag *cries* I've been thinking about what advice I would give my teenage self.
