HOW TO GET INTO THE HALLOWEEN SPIRIT

Hey there my ghoulish guys and girls. So it’s nearly Halloween and I’m in the midst of celebrating this spooktacular holiday! If you are not a Halloween fan or just seem to not be able to find your scary side this month, then fear not! I have created a list of my favourite Halloween activities to help get you into the Halloween spirit.

Carve a pumpkin

What could be more fun than carving a pumpkin? Each year I like to go and pick out the biggest pumpkin I can find and get to work creating a scary masterpiece! The great thing about pumpkin carving is that there are so many options and it’s honestly one of my favourite things to do.

Watch a film

Watching Halloween themed films are the perfect way to spend an evening on the run up to Halloween. Relax, buy some treats (another plus about Halloween- there everywhere and usually on offer!) and settle down to watch a film. Maybe try watching a scary film or if that’s not your thing there are plenty more Halloween films that won’t leave you scared to sleep! If you’re wanting some suggestions read about my top five Halloween films here.

Go window shopping

I love going into shops and seeing all of the creepy Halloween displays and all the new decorations! I usually always end up spending hours admiring all of it and always come away with something new to add to my Halloween collection!

Experiment with your dark side

This is not what it looks like! I don’t mean giving in to your inner demons or trying to contact the dead. I’m talking about your look! Halloween is the perfect time to try a new beauty/fashion trend that you’ve always been scared to! Want to try a super sultry smoky eye, or wearing head to toe black? No perfect time than Halloween! Although I treat every day like it’s Halloween, but this is really the time when I try to get out of my comfort zone and try something new!

Plan a Halloween party

Nothing. I repeat. NOTHING will get you excited for Halloween than planning a party. It combines everything great about Halloween- food, costumes, music, decorations. It includes it all! Each year my family get together to have a Halloween party and it is so much fun! I love dressing up and what’s better than showing it off at a party? Pinterest will give you so many great ideas and if you are wondering what tunes you should play to bring out the dancing devil for all your guests. I got you covered, check out my ultimate Halloween playlist to have everyone dancing all night long!

I hope that these will help you get into the Halloween spirit! What are your favourite things to do at Halloween?

  1. Great post! Halloween is my favourite time of year, but I've actually been lacking in Halloween spirit this year and I have no idea why. I'm planning on carving my pumpkins on Wednesday and hopefully watching some movies!
