THE BLOGGERS BLOG AWARDS

So yesterday I went to my first bloggers event and it was everything! The Bloggers Blog Awards were held in Leeds and it was so much fun I can't quite describe it.

Getting there.
Okay so I'm useless at travelling. I have no sense of direction. I was travelling alone. This was going to be a disaster. I'm so proud that I managed to function as an adult and catch four different trains and not get lost. I never really do anything on my own as I usually freak out and I like to rely on the support of others. However, I'm really glad that I had to do this on my own and get out of my comfort zone. It taught me that I am not as useless as I often think and that I can be independent and do things by myself. Although, I'm pretty sure if the wonderful Eleanor (foreverdreaminggreen) hadn't agreed to meet me at the train station I would have been lost in Leeds!

The Event.
The event was held in an old mill and it was such a cool venue! It was a bloggers dream with exposed brick backgrounds and lights strung everywhere! The structure of the day was timed really well, giving everyone a chance to talk before the awards and then again before the raffle. I loved the awards themselves, it was an incredible atmosphere with bloggers who had travelled from all over the country to support one another! I also was lucky enough to win the most beautiful headpieces in the world! They were made by the insanely talented Elena from Spook and Siren and it was a pretty big coincidence that we were sat chatting when I won, which just made the whole thing so much more special!

Meeting Other Bloggers.
This was my first event and I was beyond nervous to talk to people. It's kinda surreal to meet bloggers in real life. You read their blog and see pictures of them that it's kinda strange to be like oh my god, you're actually here... not just behind my computer screen. I met so many wonderful bloggers that day and I can't wait to see them at other events. A highlight for me would be meeting Amy from Salt and Chic. Amy was one of the first blogs I followed and one of the reasons I started my own, so meeting her and talking to her was kinda awe inspiring if I'm honest. I definitely fan-girled a little bit and I can’t wait to meet her again at other events!

Onwards and Upwards.
After leaving the event you kinda can't not reflect upon your own blog and what this means for you. It was so surreal to have people come up and tell me that they read my blog or that they loved what I post because honestly, I never even imagined anyone ever wanting to read what I post! I left the awards feeling so full of love and appreciation for all the wonderful bloggers that were there. Being surrounded by so many bloggers really inspired me to up my blogging game and make me determined to keep improving my content and my blog!

And you never know maybe next year I'll be going as a nominee ;) you gotta dream big guys!
