Have you ever had a list of brands that you are determined to add to your wardrobe? The Ragged Priest have been a brand I've had on my radar and have been wanting to own something from them but could never quite justify the price. That's why I was so thrilled to see this dress on sale!

Statistics. Something I feel a lot of us bloggers have a love/ hate relationship with. I can't quite pin point the moment I became quite so concerned with my stats. I wish I could go back to the mentality I had when I first started blogging and I had no idea what my stats meant. Blogging isn't about your statistics at all- so why am I so bothered about them?

Will I ever feel as cool as I did when shooting the photos for this blog post? Probably not. I am in love with this outfit! It's a lil different to what I would usually wear or even showcase here on my blog but I think that's one of the things I love the most about it! It's so different yet still very much me. The 90s have been an era I take a lot of my style inspiration from and I have never felt more like a 90s roadie!

This time last week I was in Liverpool having the best time of my life. It was my first trip to Liverpool and I feel like when you go to a city you've never been to and you only go for just over a day that there is a LOT to pack in and boy did we pack a lot in!

It's officially September- can I start talking and getting excited about Autumn now?! Nothing gives me greater joy in life than the season of Autumn! It is without a doubt my favourite season and one of the reasons for that being the change in fashion - y'all thought i was gonna say Halloween, didn't you ;) well that too because you know I love all things a lil spooky!

How is it nearly September?! I feel like August will always be one of my favourite months of the year- mainly because I'm a teacher and am off work the entire month and it's my birthday (but we're just gonna forget THAT ever happened). This month has been so insane and even now I can't quite believe everything I've managed to pack into this month!

I always find transitioning between seasons really difficult, particularly from Summer to Autumn. It's too cold to not wear a jacket, but it's still too warm for me to break out the winter coat just yet. It's always around these transition periods that I find myself reaching for my leather jacket- well more than I usually would! A leather jacket is the perfect item during transitional seasons and they're the perfect outerwear for any occasion!

Eyebrows. I feel like a trend that has pretty much taken over the world is the want/need to have flawless eyebrows. I know that I am always on the look out for ways in which I can up my brow game. I even have a Pinterest board dedicated to eyebrows I wish were my own and am in constant envy of people I see that are blessed with good brows. So, I was beyond excited when Billion Dollar Brows sent me their Universal Eyebrow Pencil* to try.

On the day we planned to shoot these, it was forecasted rain and I was in two minds whether I should just go another day. But, never one to waste an opportunity to shoot an outfit for my blog, I decided that I would brace the elements and go ahead with the shoot despite the rain. With that being said, it did mean this blog post has turned into a slightly 2 for 1 deal, as I did manage to take a few shots of the outfit I had planned... but I also had to take some shots wearing my coat because it was really cold!

So I just want to put it out there that I am not a professional and in no way qualified to be giving advice what so ever. That being said, I have been blogging for around 15 months now and I've picked up so many useful tips/ tricks that has really helped me improve the quality of my blogging- things I wish I had known back in the beginning! I asked all you lovely peeps who follow me on Twitter whether this would be something you would want to read and surprisingly you did- so your wish is my command!

So I feel like summer didn't really happen! As per usual, Britain hasn't been the best for weather this year. Although, I do remember having a few days where I honestly felt like I was going to melt and end up a lil like the witch in Wizard of Oz! So, I guess we've had a bit of summer but I have definitely noticed a change in temperature, with me already having to grab for my woolley jumpers!

"You've changed" is a phrase I've never known how to take. Do they mean change as in a good change? Or a bad change? And what do they even mean by change? The thing about change is that most of the time we don't recognise it's even happened because for us it might be something that happens gradually. Change can mean an instant change like a haircut or it could be a change that occurs gradually like weight loss or building confidence. I've been thinking about personal change recently and how I have undergone quite a big change over the years.

Yes, the title of this post was a terrible attempt at a pun for my blog name. You're welcome. So, you might be able to hint from my blog name that I love lace. Fashion has always been an area I have loved and enjoyed learning about, from different styles of clothing all the way to individual material. Lace is without a doubt, my favourite fabric of clothing and I always find myself being drawn to items of clothing that are made of lace.

If you are in a relationship then you probably don't realise just how easy you have it. For all my single ladies (and gents!) I think we can all agree the absolute shit fest that is dating in 2017. I for one, have had enough of trying to find a man and if I'm honest I think it would be easier and less painful to have a vital organ removed than to find myself a guy!

So just putting it out there- this may be my most goth fashion post yet! Goth fashion has become a huge part of this blog and I absolutely love showcasing different styles of gothic fashion with you. This weeks blog post is pretty special as it showcases the bag of all my goth dreams!!

So, this week I hit a pretty huge life milestone. I finally graduated! On Thursday I graduated with a 1st class honours degree in Primary Education and it was a pretty huge moment for me! I have changed so much over the past three years and for everything I have been working towards to finally come to this was just a pretty amazing and overwhelming feeling!

When this post goes live it will be a day before my graduation. I still kinda can't believe that I made it through university or that my three years of studying are over. It's gone so unbelievably fast and for me finishing university marks the end of an era, I guess. In a good way! I changed so much during my time at university, it changed me as a person and allowed me to become the person I have always wanted to be.

What?! An outfit post that features hardly any black! I know, I'm just as shocked as you are. However, there is a story behind this. So, I'm a primary school teacher and the school I work in have a summer concert every year with a different theme, some of the past themes have been- decades, the west end, the jubilee etc. The theme for this years concert is Woodstock.

How are we half way through 2017 already?! This year is going so incredibly fast and I don't quite know whether I can keep up! It seems like a few weeks ago that I published my LOOKING FORWARD TO 2017 post, in which I created a list of the things I wanted to accomplish this year.

Finding new locations has become one of my favourite things about blogging and recently I have been having a ton of fun exploring new blogging locations with my photographer/ mother/ best friend. Seeing as the sun was out, we decided to venture to the woods where we used to walk my dog. This made the perfect location because not only could I get some great shots, we could also bring along Coco and she enjoyed a long walk around Ploughman Wood.

It's July?! How did that happen. I can't believe we are pretty much half way through 2017 all ready?! This month has been pretty big and I feel like I have been busy every day this month from working, blogging, moving back to Nottingham full time. Anyways, time for me to share some of my favourite moments from June.

Really showing some love for my favourite film this week! So this is going to be another Beetlejuice inspired post, this time thanks to the most incredible pair of trousers in the world! I have been after a pair of striped trousers for so long and I think I have finally fount the perfect pair!

Guess who finally got inked?! That's right, a few days ago I finally stopped being a baby and got my first tattoo! Getting a tattoo is a big deal, especially when it's your first so I thought I would share with you my experience and tell you all about why I decided to get a tattoo and what my tattoo means to me.

One of the things I have begun to love the most about blogging is getting out of my house and finding new places to take my photos! Being an introvert/ all-round anxious person sometimes I find comfort in staying inside. It's where I feel safe and don't constantly worry about what people are thinking or making judgements about the way I dress.

It finally happened. I finally saw Paramore! I feel like I have been waiting forever to see this band and honestly being this patient definitely payed off! There are no words to describe how incredible they are and the whole day was filled with positivity, good vibes and a lot of emotion!

Today’s post is slightly different to my usual Sunday fashion post on the blog. For this post, I decided to take the challenge of creating three different outfits for different occasions- each being based around the same key wardrobe staple- a denim skirt. I purchased a denim skirt a couple months back and I find it so easy to style as it is one of those pieces that is so versatile and can be worn with anything, for anything! To help me style three different outfits, I teamed up with Pretty Polly, a lingerie and hosiery brand.

So as you are probably all aware by now, ya girl's got a sweet tooth! I am such a dessert fan and more often than not when we go out to eat, I turn straight to the dessert menu- I mean everyone knows that's the best part of a menu anyways, am I right? So when I was invited by Griddle & Shake to come and try their new dessert menu, it's safe to say I was over the moon!

Do you know what I love? Discovering new treasures in my hometown! Nottingham is such a beautiful city and I couldn't imagine calling anywhere else home. This week I managed to go back to a small area of Notts that has a ton of incredible street art. Sneinton Market has a ton of storage units that are all decorated with a different street art in all different colours and styles. With all that colour and uniqueness- how could I pass up the opportunity to shoot a "few" photos there?!

I will be the first to admit that I used to hate politics! I was naive and ignorant about it all. I really didn't care that much about it and if I'm honest thought it was all boring. Since I'm now an "adult" (I use that term very loosely) politics has become something I've really become engaged with.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate summer... well I don't completely hate summer! I just find it pretty difficult to be a goth in the summer. I am a goth. I wear a lot of black. There is one thing I've learnt and that is that the sun and black clothing do not mix well! It makes you hot, feel like you are melting from the inside and just irritated.

It's time for another favourites post! I've really been enjoying creating this posts- looking at what I've been buying and my highlights for the month! May has been a pretty damn good month for me and I feel like I've done so much!

We made it! Midnight and Lace turns one today (well I'm saying it's today- it was definitely around this date!) I can't believe I've had this lil blog of mine for an entire year now. If I'm honest I never thought I'd make it this long- I didn't think I'd have the dedication to stick it out but I have never been prouder of something I've done.

A trend I have been seeing everywhere is the mesh overlay dress. Now you know ya girl loves wearing mesh and I have a few mesh dresses including this maxi dress. I'd never thought to pair it with some jeans before because I was a little skeptical as to how it would look. Even after putting this outfit on and taking these photos I was still unsure on how it looked and whether it just made me look like a bit of a fool! But after spending an hour or two in it I was totally into this!

Nastygal is a brand that has shot onto the scene and is quickly becoming one of the it brands to shop with. To be honest I hadn't heard much about Nastygal until the release of founder Sophie book 'Girl Boss' and now the recent TV show that details how the brand came to be.

There's just something about mesh that I cannot resist! Mesh has definitely become a true style staple of mine and I feel my best self when I am wearing this kind of fabric.

The majority of my make-up is high street. I am a girl who loves a good bargain and luxury make-up products have never been something that I have particularly lusted for. In all honestly, when it comes to high end makeup most of the time you are paying for the name and not the product. So I tend to stick to high street makeup, but one brand I have never really tried is Barry M.

I love having fun with my makeup and clothes! I love experimenting and trying new things and I've been playing around with an idea for a new series on Midnight and Lace for a while. I've been slightly unsure if this was a good idea but I've decided to just go for it and hope you guys like it!

I never know whether to talk about my personal life on here. I'm always torn between wanting to keep it private and dealing with it alone or to share it with you all. I feel like when we present this version of ourselves online- we want it to be the best version of ourselves.

I don't tend to wear trousers a great deal and I reluctantly own a pair of jeans (I know I'm a monster). Trousers have always been a hard one for me because I can never find a pair that fit!

Errm so how is it nearly May?! I swear all these posts remind me of, is that time is going so fast y'all! I find it crazy that I sit down and write these posts and then the next thing I know, I'm writing the next one!

Okay so the single most used comment I get is that I look like I could be part of The Addams Family. I'm never sure whether they mean it as a compliment or an insult, but for me it's a huge compliment. My first ever OOTD post was what I saw as being a modern Addams Family look and I'm back with another Addams Family-esque outfit.

Dissertation- a word that strikes fear and unimaginable stress into every final year student. I have just exited dissertation hell and have finally sent off, what has easily been one of the most stressful things I've ever done!

Being away for uni has taught me one thing: I really missed my dog! Growing up my sisters and I asked on pretty much a daily basis for a dog. Their answer was always the same: no. So when they turned up with this lil fluff ball 5 years ago, it was easily one of the best days of my life. Our lil pup has completed our family and she is just the cutest and happiest doggy we could have asked for!

I have a wardrobe that could put Carrie Bradshaw's to shame. Just like Carrie, I have a difficult time parting from any of my clothes because for me they each hold a memory or a special place in my heart. But... I just don't have the room for them! So I have decided to get into the Spring Cleaning spirit and finally sort through my (two) wardrobes and storage boxes to reorganise my wardrobe.

So if you haven't worked out by now- I'm a lil weird. I feel like one of the main reasons I have my blog is to try to encourage people to be who they are!

I have never been on a date... but I did come pretty close this weekend! Okay so if you follow me on twitter (and if you don't you should really change that, I'm hilarious) you would have seen me tweeting about the whole disaster with all the funny gifs included.

Gingham is everywhere! I am beyond excited that this fabric is back in fashion because honestly I love everything about gingham!

How is it the end of March already?! Seriously, I feel like writing these posts just serve as a reminder how quickly each month goes! So this month I promised myself I wouldn't spend much and would try to save money (haha funny joke!). Yeah I have an issue with spending and I'm an emotional shopper so I try to solve my issues through buying things. So here are the new items I have been loving this month.

Happy Mother's Day! I hope that whether you get to spend the day giving your mum a lil love or just remembering your mum that you all have a wonderful Mother's Day. To celebrate all the mums out there I decided to create a lil Mother's Day post listing some of the reasons why having a mum is pretty damn cool...

Okay so I think it's pretty obvious I love wearing mesh! I feel as if mesh has become a key style staple of mine and I love experimenting with it. A way I've been wanting to try styling is wearing mesh for a more casual, every day piece. I wasn't sure how this was going to work and whether it would even look decent, but I am in love with this entire outfit!
