A word I would not use to describe my everyday style is casual. One of the things that gives me the most joy in life is putting an outfit together and putting my makeup on. When I plan outfits to show on my blog, I tend to lean towards my more out there, slightly "extra" outfits and whilst I do where these outfits regularly, I feel there is a huge gaping hole on my blog where I show you an everyday off duty kinda outfit.

We are nearing the end of 2017 and I can honestly say that this has been the best year of my life! I have had so many incredible opportunities and achieved so much this year. I've also focused more on capturing these moments, so that I can look back and remember just how incredible 2017 has been.

Have you ever been reading a blog or following a blogger and thought just how cool they are?! Well that's how I feel about my girl Foxxtailz. Jess always serves major inspiration over on her blog and this post is a blogger inspiration post with a twist.

As much as I love writing and creating my own content, I love getting the chance to read other blogs. This community is filled with some pretty talented people and I am forever feeling inspired to improve my own content after seeing theirs! There are a few bloggers who I will go back to again and again - to check for new posts, read posts I've missed and to even re read posts because I love them that much!

Isn't there just something about the fair?! There is a fair held in my hometown every year and whilst I am not a fan of rides, I love going to look at the all the lights and eat all of the food!

So, last week I had potentially the busiest blogging week ever, with attending three events! Blogging events have been something I've only just started going to (or being asked to go to haha!) and every one I've been to has been a ton of fun and has given me the opportunity to be surrounded by other bloggers who just get the need for good lighting! So, instead of me creating three individual posts, I decided to do almost a quick roundup of the three events I had the pleasure in attending!

This is Halloween, this is Halloween. Pumpkins scream in the dead of night. This is Halloween, everybody make a scene. Trick or treat till the neighbours gonna die of fright. It's our town, everybody scream. In this town of Halloween.

TOMORROW IS HALLOWEEN!! As you've probably been able to tell over Blogoween, this abandoned graveyard is my favourite place to shoot! I always end up coming back her and I just feel like it makes the perfect backdrop for my photos and my style of fashion. There's something about a graveyard I will always love, I find them really peaceful. I love reading the gravestones and imagining about the people who are laid there's lives and what their life must have been like.

I've been creating monthly favourites for a while now, so it seemed only right for me to create a Halloween special monthly faves post, right?!

A huge aspect of Halloween, that i feel has really increased it's popularity as a holiday are as a result of the film and TV industry and how they have often used Halloween to create some truly incredible pieces of film and TV. Just like the majority of people, I love to sit down and watch a film or binge watch a TV series. However, I am incredibly picky when it comes to choosing which film / series to watch!

I'm back with another brand collab post with Blue Banana - this time to show you another way you can add a lil horror love into you everyday style!

This Blogoween I've been delving into different aspects of this spooky season, so today I'm venturing into potentially one of the key aspects that makes Halloween such a popular and spooky time of year- talking all fears and phobias!

To celebrate Halloween, I've teamed up with the ace peeps over at Blue Banana, to share my love for my favourite holiday with you and show you how you can add a little Halloween spirit into your own wardrobe this spooky season.

"With this hand I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never empty, I will be your wine. With this cup, I will fight your way into darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine".

So, admittedly this is my favourite time of year. Always has been, always will! Halloween is the one time of year I look forward to the most and when it is approaching Halloween, I like to make sure that I fit in as much as possible. I also feel like I'm a pretty good position on giving advice on how to have the best Halloween. If I were to go on Mastermind, Halloween would be chosen subject (or serial killers, but that's a whole new subject!). So, I thought I would give you my guide to making sure this Halloween is your best one yet!

I have always had a bit of a weird obsession with True Crime. I love reading about murders and serial killers, learning about how the murder happened and feeling a lil bit like a detective! That's why My Favourite Murder has quickly become my favourite podcast to listen to- as it features two badass babes each talking about one of their favourite murders each episode. Taking inspiration from this, I decided what better post for Blogoween than to share a rundown of some of my favourite murders. Get ready for some crime!

“Oh- my twitchy witchy girl, I think you are so nice, I give you bowls of porridge. And I give you bowls of ice cream. I give you lots of kisses, and I give lots of hugs, but I never give you sandwiches with bugs in.”

Are you a believer of the supernatural? Do you believe in ghosts and the afterlife? I'm a pretty morbid person and spend an unhealthy amount of time thinking about death and what happens to us after we die. The afterlife has always been a concept I've had a huge fascination for- I just want to know what happens to us after death!

When I first started this blog, I didn’t quite know what I was going to get out of it. I just knew I wanted a space where I could express who I am. I never thought that I would not only get nominated but then also go on to win the bloody award?! I mean that’s just a lil insane!

It's finally October- my spooky guys and gals! This means only one thing- Blogoween! Last year I did Blogoween, where all of my posts throughout the month were dedicated to my favourite event of the year- Halloween. So, I've decided to do it all over again this year!

I can't believe it's time for another monthly faves post! I swear all these posts do is remind me just how quickly each month goes! I always feel like September is my January. I work in a school so September has always been the month that I see as a new start to the year and I always take time this month to reset myself and reassess where I am and where I want to go.

Something you may or may not know about me is that when I'm not blogging, I'm teaching a bunch of ten year olds! I have started my first year as a teacher this month and am responsible for a class of ten year olds throughout the week. Since starting back at school, I've had to think a little more about how I dress and how even though I am a teacher, I can still represent my alternative/ goth style.

I've never been one to hold my tongue. I say what's on my mind and hope not too many people get offended by my bluntness. That being said, if you are easily offended then I probably would give this post a miss!

Have you ever had a list of brands that you are determined to add to your wardrobe? The Ragged Priest have been a brand I've had on my radar and have been wanting to own something from them but could never quite justify the price. That's why I was so thrilled to see this dress on sale!

Statistics. Something I feel a lot of us bloggers have a love/ hate relationship with. I can't quite pin point the moment I became quite so concerned with my stats. I wish I could go back to the mentality I had when I first started blogging and I had no idea what my stats meant. Blogging isn't about your statistics at all- so why am I so bothered about them?

Will I ever feel as cool as I did when shooting the photos for this blog post? Probably not. I am in love with this outfit! It's a lil different to what I would usually wear or even showcase here on my blog but I think that's one of the things I love the most about it! It's so different yet still very much me. The 90s have been an era I take a lot of my style inspiration from and I have never felt more like a 90s roadie!

This time last week I was in Liverpool having the best time of my life. It was my first trip to Liverpool and I feel like when you go to a city you've never been to and you only go for just over a day that there is a LOT to pack in and boy did we pack a lot in!

It's officially September- can I start talking and getting excited about Autumn now?! Nothing gives me greater joy in life than the season of Autumn! It is without a doubt my favourite season and one of the reasons for that being the change in fashion - y'all thought i was gonna say Halloween, didn't you ;) well that too because you know I love all things a lil spooky!

How is it nearly September?! I feel like August will always be one of my favourite months of the year- mainly because I'm a teacher and am off work the entire month and it's my birthday (but we're just gonna forget THAT ever happened). This month has been so insane and even now I can't quite believe everything I've managed to pack into this month!

I always find transitioning between seasons really difficult, particularly from Summer to Autumn. It's too cold to not wear a jacket, but it's still too warm for me to break out the winter coat just yet. It's always around these transition periods that I find myself reaching for my leather jacket- well more than I usually would! A leather jacket is the perfect item during transitional seasons and they're the perfect outerwear for any occasion!

Eyebrows. I feel like a trend that has pretty much taken over the world is the want/need to have flawless eyebrows. I know that I am always on the look out for ways in which I can up my brow game. I even have a Pinterest board dedicated to eyebrows I wish were my own and am in constant envy of people I see that are blessed with good brows. So, I was beyond excited when Billion Dollar Brows sent me their Universal Eyebrow Pencil* to try.

On the day we planned to shoot these, it was forecasted rain and I was in two minds whether I should just go another day. But, never one to waste an opportunity to shoot an outfit for my blog, I decided that I would brace the elements and go ahead with the shoot despite the rain. With that being said, it did mean this blog post has turned into a slightly 2 for 1 deal, as I did manage to take a few shots of the outfit I had planned... but I also had to take some shots wearing my coat because it was really cold!

So I just want to put it out there that I am not a professional and in no way qualified to be giving advice what so ever. That being said, I have been blogging for around 15 months now and I've picked up so many useful tips/ tricks that has really helped me improve the quality of my blogging- things I wish I had known back in the beginning! I asked all you lovely peeps who follow me on Twitter whether this would be something you would want to read and surprisingly you did- so your wish is my command!

So I feel like summer didn't really happen! As per usual, Britain hasn't been the best for weather this year. Although, I do remember having a few days where I honestly felt like I was going to melt and end up a lil like the witch in Wizard of Oz! So, I guess we've had a bit of summer but I have definitely noticed a change in temperature, with me already having to grab for my woolley jumpers!

"You've changed" is a phrase I've never known how to take. Do they mean change as in a good change? Or a bad change? And what do they even mean by change? The thing about change is that most of the time we don't recognise it's even happened because for us it might be something that happens gradually. Change can mean an instant change like a haircut or it could be a change that occurs gradually like weight loss or building confidence. I've been thinking about personal change recently and how I have undergone quite a big change over the years.

Yes, the title of this post was a terrible attempt at a pun for my blog name. You're welcome. So, you might be able to hint from my blog name that I love lace. Fashion has always been an area I have loved and enjoyed learning about, from different styles of clothing all the way to individual material. Lace is without a doubt, my favourite fabric of clothing and I always find myself being drawn to items of clothing that are made of lace.

If you are in a relationship then you probably don't realise just how easy you have it. For all my single ladies (and gents!) I think we can all agree the absolute shit fest that is dating in 2017. I for one, have had enough of trying to find a man and if I'm honest I think it would be easier and less painful to have a vital organ removed than to find myself a guy!

So just putting it out there- this may be my most goth fashion post yet! Goth fashion has become a huge part of this blog and I absolutely love showcasing different styles of gothic fashion with you. This weeks blog post is pretty special as it showcases the bag of all my goth dreams!!

So, this week I hit a pretty huge life milestone. I finally graduated! On Thursday I graduated with a 1st class honours degree in Primary Education and it was a pretty huge moment for me! I have changed so much over the past three years and for everything I have been working towards to finally come to this was just a pretty amazing and overwhelming feeling!

When this post goes live it will be a day before my graduation. I still kinda can't believe that I made it through university or that my three years of studying are over. It's gone so unbelievably fast and for me finishing university marks the end of an era, I guess. In a good way! I changed so much during my time at university, it changed me as a person and allowed me to become the person I have always wanted to be.

What?! An outfit post that features hardly any black! I know, I'm just as shocked as you are. However, there is a story behind this. So, I'm a primary school teacher and the school I work in have a summer concert every year with a different theme, some of the past themes have been- decades, the west end, the jubilee etc. The theme for this years concert is Woodstock.

How are we half way through 2017 already?! This year is going so incredibly fast and I don't quite know whether I can keep up! It seems like a few weeks ago that I published my LOOKING FORWARD TO 2017 post, in which I created a list of the things I wanted to accomplish this year.

Finding new locations has become one of my favourite things about blogging and recently I have been having a ton of fun exploring new blogging locations with my photographer/ mother/ best friend. Seeing as the sun was out, we decided to venture to the woods where we used to walk my dog. This made the perfect location because not only could I get some great shots, we could also bring along Coco and she enjoyed a long walk around Ploughman Wood.

It's July?! How did that happen. I can't believe we are pretty much half way through 2017 all ready?! This month has been pretty big and I feel like I have been busy every day this month from working, blogging, moving back to Nottingham full time. Anyways, time for me to share some of my favourite moments from June.

Really showing some love for my favourite film this week! So this is going to be another Beetlejuice inspired post, this time thanks to the most incredible pair of trousers in the world! I have been after a pair of striped trousers for so long and I think I have finally fount the perfect pair!

Guess who finally got inked?! That's right, a few days ago I finally stopped being a baby and got my first tattoo! Getting a tattoo is a big deal, especially when it's your first so I thought I would share with you my experience and tell you all about why I decided to get a tattoo and what my tattoo means to me.

One of the things I have begun to love the most about blogging is getting out of my house and finding new places to take my photos! Being an introvert/ all-round anxious person sometimes I find comfort in staying inside. It's where I feel safe and don't constantly worry about what people are thinking or making judgements about the way I dress.

It finally happened. I finally saw Paramore! I feel like I have been waiting forever to see this band and honestly being this patient definitely payed off! There are no words to describe how incredible they are and the whole day was filled with positivity, good vibes and a lot of emotion!
