A VERY GOTHIC FLATLAY

Okay so you may have noticed one of the more cliche blogger things that is missing from my blog is flatlays. They are a bloggers best friend, but I'm not a fan! It's not that I don't like them, it's that I always worried they didn't fit with my blogger style.
I'm a goth blogger and every flat lay I've seen is usually quite bright, airy and involves a lot of pink and fairy lights. Now I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that I just think we'd all find it a bit strange if pink and bright flat lays started to appear on my blog. However, I have decided to stop feeling like I can't do flat lays because I have a different blog style and I'm going to be attempting more goth flat-lays on Midnight & Lace.

I was gifted the most incredible presents by my goth bestie Jess (heartshapedbones) when I visited her at the beginning of the month. Jess is an incredible artist and I have been obsessed with her artwork and actually asked my mum to buy me one for Christmas, which I have loved since then! So I was completely shocked when Jess gave me a bunch of her artwork as a present and it made me quite emotional!

I love Jess' style of artwork as it's insanely gothic and features my favourite ladies- Wednesday and Lydia. The Addams Family and Beetlejuice are my favourite films and I just love having her artwork of them in my room. I love all things goth and Halloweeny and I have Halloween decorations up all year round! I just love the whole dark goth vibes and it's just another way for me to show my interests and loves! With my new artwork I feel like it just completes my room and utterly represents me and who I am.

I am incredibly lucky and grateful that Jess gave me these incredible presents and I love my goth girl forever. Honestly, she is so talented and spends so much time and effort creating these beautifully dark and gothic pieces. Please go and check out her store here because she is incredible!
