OOTD: WEIRDO FOR LIFE

So if you haven't worked out by now- I'm a lil weird. I feel like one of the main reasons I have my blog is to try to encourage people to be who they are!
Growing up I never really fit in, I didn't follow trends and I was very sure of the person I wanted to be. One of the main comments I got was weird. For me this word used to represent such a negative experience and used to make me feel so abnormal. One of the key things I've learnt as an adult is to embrace who you are- even what you used to think was a negative. Okay, so I'm weird! I'm different to everyone else and I don't necessarily dress in a similar style to anyone else- but who says I have to?

The thing about being called names like "weird" or "strange" is that it can be taken as a positive. People are afraid of what they don't know or understand so seeing someone who isn't afraid to be themselves can come across as a threat to small minded people. But I'm here to say- you do you, girl! Don't ever let anyone else tell you how you should be dressing or acting because all we have in this world is our originality and authenticity. To not be yourself is denying the world of the gift that is you! So you think you're a lil weird? Cool, then you embrace that weird and be the best weirdo you can be!

Speaking of weirdos- how insane is this tee? It's what has inspired this post! I like to embrace my personality and who I am through my clothing- so when I saw this I knew I had to have it! I loved the style of this tee and I am loving the baseball tee style it has with red sleeves. This t-shirt was made by Jemma Wade over at Laewmoons where she is a complete #girlboss and runs her own company. I love supporting girl bosses so that was another bonus!

My friend (and personal photographer) went exploring a few weeks ago to take these pictures and she took me to this park that I didn't even know was there! I love exploring where I live as there are so many hidden treasures like this place. I had so much fun shooting this outfit.

T-shirt: Laewmoons // Shorts: H&M // Boots- Docs.

This t-shirt sums me up completely and I have had so many compliments from people telling me how much they love my t-shirt. Maybe being a weirdo isn't a bad thing after all and to quote my favourite goth lady- "I myself am strange and unusual".

Till next time,

  1. I was exactly the same in school. I didn't really fit into a group and was called 'weird' quite a lot, but it's definitely something to be happy about! I love both this outfit (those shorts thooooough!) and this post. I also love Lydia - actually, I just love Winona Ryder in general!
