NOTTINGHAM STREET ART

Do you know what I love? Discovering new treasures in my hometown! Nottingham is such a beautiful city and I couldn't imagine calling anywhere else home. This week I managed to go back to a small area of Notts that has a ton of incredible street art. Sneinton Market has a ton of storage units that are all decorated with a different street art in all different colours and styles. With all that colour and uniqueness- how could I pass up the opportunity to shoot a "few" photos there?!
If you follow me on Twitter you will know that I haven't been happy with the lack of diversity in my backgrounds, as I have been shooting in my garden most of the time! So when my mum suggested on our day of that we go and find an interesting place to shoot, I jumped at the chance! Getting out and about has made me fall back in love with fashion blogging and has made me more determined to get out and discover new places because you never know where you are going to find!

Nottingham has been the place I have called home for my entire life and after living away from the city for the past three years I am beyond happy to be back! Not that I didn't love Lincoln, it's just- not home! Nottingham for me has everything I could want- I live in a location that is a 10-15 minute drive into the city but is also surrounded by country parks and nature. For me its the perfect situation. Every time I venture into the city I fall in love with my hometown a lil bit more! I love the buildings, the history that is there, the people! Nottingham has everything and I honestly can't wait to discover as many places as possible now that I'm back home!

So let's talk about this outfit or more importantly- this coat! I have fallen in love with this vintage coat that I stopped my mum from putting in the bin. I often feel like I grew up in the wrong decade- I love the 80s! The music, the films, the fashion! For me the whole 80s pop culture was incredible! I loved how everyone took fashion risks and they honestly looked like they had a blast! So I love this coat more than life itself for the 80s vibe it gives. The padded oversized feel makes me feel like the ultimate 80s goth powerhouse. This coat makes me feel like such a powerful boss and I am living for it. It adds to my whole gothness and just really works with my personal style- yes to be an 80s goth!

In my last post I talked about being a goth in summer and I did say I didn't want to jinx it... looks like I jinxed it! The rain had returned when I went to shoot these photos but we don't let the rain get in the way of fashion and cool ass blog photos! I had to break out the Docs again. I had the most fun I've ever had shooting these photos and I loved how they turned out, so much so that I couldn't quite choose which ones to include- so I included them all haha!

When your name's Robyn and you're from Nottingham... kinda can't pass up the opportunity to take a pic with my main man. When Robyn met Robin.

Coat- I have no idea! // Tee- Zara // Trousers- F&F // Boots- Docs // Umbrella- Primark
Behind the scenes because battling the elements can be difficult!

I am so pleased with how these photos turned out and it was easily one of my favourite shoots I've ever done! A huge shout out to my incredible mum who was such a fab photographer! Especially to say this is the first time she's ever used my camera! Pretty sure I'll be roping her in to take my blog photos from now on!

I'm so happy I got to venture out and explore my hometown and I can't wait to shoot more outfits around my favourite city!

Till next time,

  11. Oh wow, what vibrant street art! I've only ever been to Nottingham once and that was to go to the cat cafe, and I would love to explore it a little more. I'm glad you stopped your mum from chucking that coat away - it looks so good on you! I too am a fan of 80s music :D

I have the same problem when it comes to outfit photos... I have yet to venture outside my garden, and I worry that everything looks the same! I did manage to take some when I was on holiday but since I've returned I've been too chicken to do it in public....

  12. I've been in Brighton for the past few years studying and there is so much amazing graffiti around. This is my last summer spent in Brighton and I really want to appreciate the town more like you have yours and act like a tourist in my own town.
