AUGUST FAVOURITES

How is it nearly September?! I feel like August will always be one of my favourite months of the year- mainly because I'm a teacher and am off work the entire month and it's my birthday (but we're just gonna forget THAT ever happened). This month has been so insane and even now I can't quite believe everything I've managed to pack into this month!

Olympus DMC- MARK II

This was the month I finally had enough money saved up to treat myself to the camera of my dreams! I've spoken numerous times about how I feel like my photography is crap and my camera just wasn't doing what I wanted it to do anymore. After saving up for what seemed forever and getting lost in every kind of photography reviews, I settled upon this one and I am beyond happy with it! I love my new camera and I am so much happier with the photos in my blog posts- they just seem clearer and the quality has improved so much!

Escape Rooms

So for my birthday I decided to force my family into doing Nottingham's scariest escape room, because I'm evil and thought them screaming in terror would be fun! We did The Butcher's Room and the staff took great pleasure in telling us most people don't make it to the end before asking to be let out (my mum and sister didn't). I don't want to ruin it for anyone so I'm not going to say too much but it was absolutely terrifying at some points- The Butcher came into the room and you had to hide- which I think I did a pretty ace job at hiding from the man trying to kill me. We didn't escape but we didn't die or get caught by the Butcher so I see that as a win. In these kind of situations you learn a lot about the people you think you know the most about- such as my mum who I learnt would definitely push my sister and I (she did and that is why my sister had to leave because she had bruised and scraped all of her back!) before a murderer and that I would not be able to rely on her to save my life. Thanks mum.

Missguided Haul

I got an email from Missguided offering 30% off AND free next delivery and I couldn't help myself! There's just something about free next day delivery that I can't resist! I have been loving the Vinyl/PVC trend since I got the Zara PVC skirt last year and have been adding other PVC pieces to my wardrobe. I couldn't resist this PVC skirt and this bralette which is the coolest thing I've ever owned. I also have been loving red and seeing as stripes are my go to, I thought this would be a cool thing to add to my wardrobe! I love this tee so much and it really reminds me of the 90s- wearing all these pieces gives me complete grunge 90s vibes and I just feel pretty damn cool!

Liverpool and Lana Del Rey

This month I went to Liverpool for the first time and it was amazing! Liverpool is such a cool city with so much life and a ton to see and do! I really loved visiting Liverpool and getting to check out some of Liverpool's most famous sights like The Cavern Club. The whole reasoning behind going to Liverpool was because my cousin and I had tickets to go and see Lana Del Rey! I have been a Lana Del Rey fan since Born To Die so it was amazing to finally get to go and see her live plus we got so close to the stage and we were so close to her! Her voice is just incredible. I have an entire post scheduled about my trip to Liverpool, which will be going live next week so keep your eyes peeled!

Blogging goals

August has been such an incredible month for Midnight and Lace and I just feel really overwhelmed and grateful about everything I've done with my blog this month. I've had the opportunity to go to my first blogging event- where I met my new and super cool blogging pal Juliet. I also finally grew some lady balls, made a media kit and started approaching brands to collaborate with! As a result of this, I've been added to one of my favourite brands PR List and I am collaborating with the guys over at Ego footwear!? I love Ego and was beyond surprised when they emailed me back saying they wanted to collab with me- so much so that I had to message my blogging pals to make sure I wasn't being Punk'd! So you can expect to see that collab here on M&L very soon! I just feel so proud of my blog and what I've been achieving recently- it amazes me that you guys read and enjoy my blog and now other brands are seeing that too- it just blows my mind! But most importantly, I feel like the content I've been creating has been the best I've ever created! I've loved all my fashion posts this month and I have started to post more personal lifestyle posts which I've really been enjoying and I hope you gals/ guys have been as well!

Being nominated for an award?!

By far the most exciting thing to have happened to me this month/ year/ entire life was that I found out I have been shortlisted for Best New Blogger at this years Bloggers Blog Awards?!? Like what? I still don't think this has really settled in yet! I wrote a post about The Bloggers Blog Awards which I attended last year and I joked at the bottom that maybe I would be going this year as a nominee... and I am! I never expected anyone to like my blog, let alone think I was worthy of winning an award! So to everyone who nominated me, who has voted- or plans to ;) - vote for me or has continually supported both Midnight and Lace and myself, thank you so much! You have no idea how much this means to me! You are the best!

I'm so excited for September- I start my new job, I have a ton of content I'm really proud of planned, it's only one month till Halloween and it's THE BLOGGERS BLOG AWARDS!

What are you most looking forward to about September?

Till next time,
