EMBRACING THE RAIN

On the day we planned to shoot these, it was forecasted rain and I was in two minds whether I should just go another day. But, never one to waste an opportunity to shoot an outfit for my blog, I decided that I would brace the elements and go ahead with the shoot despite the rain. With that being said, it did mean this blog post has turned into a slightly 2 for 1 deal, as I did manage to take a few shots of the outfit I had planned... but I also had to take some shots wearing my coat because it was really cold!
I kinda like embracing nature within my blog photos and think as the seasons change we should be embracing the different elements and scenery that comes with it! I'm an Autumn girl at heart and I've always kinda loved the rain! The sound of rain is just so peaceful and I always think rain has a really nice smell (I know, I'm weird). Anyways, another one of the many reasons I prefer the Autumn/ Winter months is because I can wear coats again! I love buying and wearing coats and I pretty much have one for every occasion! I brought this coat at the end of Spring and I'm beyond excited to finally bring it out of storage (it's been under my bed for months!). I love the PVC/Vinyl trend and feel like this coat fits perfectly! I have a few vinyl pieces of clothing that I love, which is what tempted me to buy this coat! I feel like this is a material that will be a huge trend in A/W17 as it keeps popping up in stores new in section.

Whilst I love this coat, I found it really difficult to "model" in photos! I always find that coat hoods are way too big and my only slight issue with coats is that it kinda covers your outfit! So, my mum (who has been getting more confident directing from behind the camera) demanded that I took it of for a few shots. Whilst, I was absolutely freezing and the rain was getting heavier, I love how these shots came out! During the colder/ darker months is where my goth style gets even darker (if that's possible?!), as I feel like the change in season lends itself to my darker sense of style. Wearing all black is where I feel my most me! It's what I'm comfortable in, however, this top is slightly different to my usual style. I tend to wear tighter tops on the top, as I have larger hips and thighs so I feel the need to prove I have a waist! This mesh top is slightly looser than I'm used to and I was concerned I would loose my shape. However, I was wrong! I love the peplum style at the bottom and it is such a versatile option for dressing up or down.

Mesh t-shirt- TK Maxx // Jeans- Primark // Boots- Docs // Vinyl Coat- Nasty Gal // Umbrella- Primark
Weirdly enough, I prefer to shoot in colder/ darker weather. The rain will never stop this goth from getting her blog on!

Till next time,

  23. You've got such an incredible style, I'm obsessed! I'm in need of your wardrobe. I'm loving your rain jacket, it's so edgy. I've never been a fan of the rain but I much prefer the clothes we have to wear in the rain than in the sun if that makes any sense haha. Love your photography skills also Xo
