SEASONAL TRANSITION WITH RED LEATHER

I always find transitioning between seasons really difficult, particularly from Summer to Autumn. It's too cold to not wear a jacket, but it's still too warm for me to break out the winter coat just yet. It's always around these transition periods that I find myself reaching for my leather jacket- well more than I usually would! A leather jacket is the perfect item during transitional seasons and they're the perfect outerwear for any occasion!
I'm not a colourful person- I wear a lot of black. It's the colour I find myself drawn to but there is one thing I cannot help but love and that is a colourful leather jacket. I have a few in different colours now and I just think they really help my style and add a lil pop of colour to my usual monochrome clothing. I was shopping with my mum in Liverpool and I had spent the majority of our shopping trip telling her about how I really wanted a red leather jacket. We went into the Pull & Bear shop, which I was in love with because I love shopping online there and Nottingham doesn't have a shop. As soon as we walked in, my mum showed me a red leather jacket and there was no hesitation for me buying it! I have been loving the colour red recently and I mentioned in a previous post how I had a feeling this would be the in colour for A/W17. The thing I love about the colour red is that it's a colour I feel matches perfectly with black, whilst still being very much in my goth/ alternative style. It's the perfect item of clothing for this transitional period and I mean it just makes me look a lot cooler than what I actually am!

Since I've brought my new camera, I am feeling a lot more confident in front of the camera and for the first time I actually really like the close up photos in this post! Like most people, I have insecurities about the way I look and one of my biggest insecurities is my lips. I never used to feel insecure about the way my lips look but since the "Kylie Jenner effect" I feel like my lips are inadequate and not good enough. My upper lip is fuller on one side, which I try to even out but it's always the one thing I notice about myself when I have a close up photo (y'all are gonna look and notice now and not be able to unsee it haha!). At times it's made me feel really down about myself but I've decided to not let it bother me anymore! These are my lips and they may not be full or even or perfect but they don't have to be because neither am I! In choosing to embrace my insecurities instead of punishing myself for them I feel so much more confident in myself and how I look because I am my insecurities and I'm learning to love them.

  2. Yassss I love this look! That jacket on you is AMAZING.

The thing to remember is that trends with facial features, body shape, etc. comes around too. Big Kylie lips might be in right now, but sooner or later they'll be out of fashion again. You look gorgeous and there is nothing at all wrong with your lips or anything else girl! <3

  5. You look gorgeous in these photos! I love those Doc Marten's; I've always wanted a pair like that, but the breaking in period puts me off a bit. I love your leather jacket idea. I'm similar; I'm quite colourful in my dress choices, though, so I usually turn to my black leather jacket instead of a coloured one, but your red one DOES look great!

  11. Totally know what you mean about transitioning from summer to Autumn. They are just so different it's difficult to know what to wear. Love this leather jacket though. The red goes great with the black. I always wear a denim jacket during this seasonal period but I've wanted a leather jacket for ages so think it's time to go shopping. xx

  14. Keep slaying dear, loved the post. I agree, it can be difficult to navigate through the transitional period, I love your use of colour. Red demands attention, the jacket is definitely a statement piece completing any outfit. I usually opt for bomber jackets, or my classic leather jacket.
