28 HOURS IN LIVERPOOL

This time last week I was in Liverpool having the best time of my life. It was my first trip to Liverpool and I feel like when you go to a city you've never been to and you only go for just over a day that there is a LOT to pack in and boy did we pack a lot in!
So when we first got there it was lunchtime and I was starving. So we dropped our bags off at the hotel and headed to find food. We ended up in this really cool Italian place called Crust and I had the best pizza of my life! I was really disappointed in myself that I only managed to eat half of it but it was so good and really filling! After we had been fed, we spent the rest of the day shopping and checking out Liverpools shopping centre- which is huge! I spent my birthday money on some really cool pieces and fell in love that Liverpool have a Pull & Bear shop! We then headed back to the hotel room so that my cousin Jess and I could get ready for the reason we had travelled to Liverpool- Lana Del Rey.

I had no idea Lana was even playing in Liverpool until my cousin messaged me asking if I wanted to go! I love Lana Del Rey and her first album will always be my favourite- I hadn't really listened that much to her new one (I know I'm a terrible fan!) but I was just hoping she played some of her older stuff. So my cousin Jess (who is a better Lana Del Rey fan than me), was quite gutted that we had seats because she thought we were standing and the seats seemed like they were quite far away and we were a bit meh about going because we thought we wouldn't be able to see. When we got inside- we saw there were no seats and we were standing! Being the good cousin I am, I pushed our way to near the front and this was easily the best place I've ever had at a concert. We were so close to the stage and she came right in front of us which was incredible! Lana is such a cute person and she's really sassy and knows what she wants- she kept giving her band directions during the show, which I thought was amazing! She sang some of my favourite songs from the Born to Die album and her voice is just so incredible! I had such a good time and this was my first standing experience so I'm glad I had such a good one! I usually try to avoid standing because of my anxiety and feeling claustrophobic- I hate how it controls my life and I'm trying to not let it stop me as much. I was claustrophobic at times and I did start to get panicky when everyone was pushing but I was fine! I'm so proud of myself for being able to go standing at a concert- it's a huge milestone for me.

The following day, we spent it being tourists and we went to The Cavern Club, which was something my mum and aunt were desperate to do and to see the Cilla Black statue. I felt like The Cavern Club was really out of the way and it was no where near as busy as what I thought it would have been! It was really cool to see the street and think about how stars like The Beatles and Cilla first started out in Liverpool. I loved being a tourist for the day- it's something I've never really done before so I loved learning all about the history and culture of Liverpool.

I had such a fab time in Liverpool and feel like we packed so much into our short 28 hours! Liverpool was amazing and I've decided I want to do more short breaks in different cities!

Where has been your fave UK city break?

My best friend goes to uni there, with me living in Brighton I can't get to it as much as I'd like to. We never went into the Cavern club, would love to go one day. We did take a picture next to John Lennon but never saw Cilla :( xx
