MY DREAM BOOTS WITH EGO

It's officially September- can I start talking and getting excited about Autumn now?! Nothing gives me greater joy in life than the season of Autumn! It is without a doubt my favourite season and one of the reasons for that being the change in fashion - y'all thought i was gonna say Halloween, didn't you ;) well that too because you know I love all things a lil spooky!

Autumn is where I feel my wardrobe is the best. Everything about my personal style is tailored to the darker, cooler seasons and it's just my time to be my best goth self and show the world just how truly spooky I am. I can wear as much black as I like and not feel like I'm recreating the scene from Wizard of Oz, you know - I'm meltinggg! I love the change in temperature and the change in my surroundings. Greens nice but... it's just green! I love the different shades of orange / red / yellow / brown that are everywhere in Autumn- it makes my dog walks so much more colourful and I can't wait for the leaves to fall so I can do some Autumnal blog posts!

Boots are my go to footwear of choice. I live in boots all year round and have a number of different styles from chelsea, PVC, my docs but the one style I have always been missing are a pair of over the knee boots. They have been an item of footwear I have been DYING to add to my wardrobe and I feel like Autumn is the perfect time to invest in the boots of my dream! I instantly fell in love with the Harmony Boots from Ego Footwear*. I loved the style of them on the site and when I received them- I just fell more in love with them! I think they are one of the coolest things I've ever owned and I love how they look with this outfit! I paired these boots with a typical outfit of mine and I feel like when paired with these boots it has such a 60s/70s retro vibe, whilst still very much being within my alternative style. The boots are made of a suede material and they are so unbelievably comfortable- which is the main thing I look for in a pair of boots! I was a little skeptical at first about whether I could pull of a pair of over the knee boots but I am so glad I got over my initial fear and styled these beautiful boots! Boots are such a versatile product, especially as we head into Autumn with the cooler weather. They are both practical and look amazing on! I already know that I will pretty much be living in these boots for the whole of Autumn and just thinking about all the Autumnal outfits I can create wearing these boots has got me so excited for the upcoming season!

For these photos my mother and I ventured back to one of our favourite spots to discover that all the graffiti had been repainted with new designs! I love all the street art there is in my town and I was particularly drawn to the one that features a cat with the phrase "cats keep calling.." because being a feminist I found the art incredibly relevant and liked to think this was a take on how men continually cat call women and how this needs to stop. I love how art has the ability to send a strong message and this one sure did! The skill and talent that goes into creating these art pieces always amazes me and I loved shooting in front of all the colours which is very different to my style of dress!

I had a blast shooting this outfit in one of my favourite locations! I am in love with these boots from Ego Footwear, they have a ton of shoes and boots that are perfect for the upcoming season- which you can check out here.

How are you preparing for Autumn?

  2. Let me tell you that you had nothing to be worried about; you look absolutely AMAZING in these boots!

Just reading you talking about going for autumnal dog walks has made me all excited! Despite pleads to my parents, I don't have a pup of my own, but I'm sure my friend won't mind me tagging along with his... Especially if there's a promise of pub grub at the end of it ;-)

  16. Oh my gosh I am in love with these boots! I adore over-the-knee ones, because they're such an easy solution for keeping your legs warm but also looking fabulous in a dress/shorts/skirt too. It's amazing how the heel isn't too high either - perfect for people like me who can't wear heels to save their lives.

On another note - I'M SO EXCITED FOR HALLOWEEN! Eeeeeek! This is definitely my favourite part of the year too as I can channel my dark witchy vibes!

The material is fab and they're pretty comfy too, so I can't wait to wear them! I think you've styled them perfectly, I might take inspiration from you and pair mine with a stripey tee!
