BURTON BABES: LYDIA DEETZ

" I, myself, am strange and unusual"

This is the last post in my Burton Babes series for Blogween and I'm honestly gutted! I've loved getting out of my comfort zone to push myself creatively, through making different costumes and recreating different makeup looks. I'm the kind of person that always has the same makeup routine, so I have loved playing around with my makeup and trying something a little out of my normal outfit posts. I feel like each week I have been progressing and my outfits and posts for this series have been getting better, so I've decided to end with a bang. How could I do a Burton Babes series and not feature my forever Hallowqueen and goth girl inspiration - Lydia Deetz?!

Some of you will remember that I did Lydia last year for Blogoween and in a way it was my first "fashion" post because I didn't start creating fashion content regularly till January. Last year I recreated Lydia's every day outfit in the film, so this year I knew I wanted to have a go at recreating her wedding dress. I put a lot of time and effort into creating this outfit- from searching for all the supplies, creating the ruffle collar to backcombing and gelling my hair and I feel like it definitely paid off! I loved each part of creating my Lydia look and I feel like a true Hallowqueen! Lydia Deetz will always be a special character to me, as will the film Beetlejuice! It's my fvourite film for a number of reasons, the main one being the character of Lydia Deetz. I've spoken about this a number of times on my blog but she just helped me so much to embrace the person I was, teaching me that being weird or unusual was a good thing because it makes me who I am. I even have the quote "I, myself, am strange and unusual" tattooed on me as a lil reminded that like Lydia I am different and I should be owning it!

This is without a doubt my favourite photoset ever! I LOVE how these photos turned out and cannot wait to wear this for my actual Halloween costume this year!

I really hope you have enjoyed my Burton Babes series this year! I'd love to know which character was your favourite and any ideas for next year- maybe a Burton Babes 2.0....

Till next time,
