IT'S HALLOWEEN

This is Halloween, this is Halloween. Pumpkins scream in the dead of night. This is Halloween, everybody make a scene. Trick or treat till the neighbours gonna die of fright. It's our town, everybody scream. In this town of Halloween.
It's finally here - it's Halloween! Since I work in a school, I can't really turn up in a full Halloween costume - but I can wear a very fitting tribute to my favourite day of the entire year! So, this is what I am wearing today to honour Halloween whilst I'm at work. I'm also heading to our family Halloween party this evening and I'm beyond excited! My family and I have always made Halloween a big deal and I would argue we put more effort into Halloween than Christmas! Everyone heads round to my Aunties house in their best costumes, we listen to spooky music, play Halloween themed games, have our annual best dressed and pumpkin carving competition (which I'm obviously going to win both!) and just have the best time!
Halloween has and always will be such a special time to me, being a lover of all things dark and spooky and general Halloween goth girl! I was recently asked, when and where did I develop a love for gothic clothes and when did I first become a goth. I always knew there was something different about me. I didn't get along with most of the other children, I didn't have the same interests or hobbies, didn't like the same music and I often felt like the odd one out. I never felt like I had my place or could be who I was because whenever I tried I was called weird or a freak. Watching characters like Wednesday Addams and Lydia Deetz really helped me to accept who I was! I take a lot of inspiration from them and they are my heroes! They taught me that being different is a good thing. That not fitting in, in many ways, is a blessing and that I shouldn't ever feel ashamed or like I have to hide that. Since learning to embrace the true me, the goth me, I have never felt happier and more confident in myself and it's the best feeling! Halloween is a holiday where I am reminded that being different and standing out from the crowd- being myself, is the best way to be! I'm strange and unusual and I am fully embracing that this Halloween.

So, these photos were shot by myself using the shutter remote control on my phone, as I had no-one to take my photos and no time to shoot, but this has to be the funnest shoot I've ever done! I loved getting to include all my lil props that I have in my room and just messing around and having fun because that's what Halloween is all about! Being yourself and having a blast doing it!

I hope whatever you are choosing to do this Halloween that you have the best time and embrace what makes you different!

Till next time,
