THE SUPERNATURAL?!

Are you a believer of the supernatural? Do you believe in ghosts and the afterlife? I'm a pretty morbid person and spend an unhealthy amount of time thinking about death and what happens to us after we die. The afterlife has always been a concept I've had a huge fascination for- I just want to know what happens to us after death!

I was always a fan of supernatural dramas like Ghost Whisperer growing up and I feel like this is where my love for the Supernatural developed. I was fascinated with the idea of what, if anything, happened to us after we died. So, do I believe in the supernatural? You bet your ghoul I do! I just feel like there are way too many supernatural stories or occurrences for the supernatural to not be true! I love reading and researching different ghost sightings and ghost tales! They happen a lot, too much for me to accept they are just a coincidence or a trick of the light when photos have been taken. I know some people are very quick to dismiss the supernatural and the whole idea of ghosts and the afterlife (my Mum being one of them!) but I'm one of those people that doesn't need to see something to believe it exists. I've had no proof to say otherwise, so why not! Why can't ghosts exist and I just feel like there is far more proof to prove ghosts do exist than for them to not exist.

So... what exactly do I believe about the supernatural and what proof do I have for this?! The most common theory for why ghosts may not move on to the afterlife (whatever that may be, that could be a whole other blog post!) is that they still have unfinished business in our world. I like this theory, the whole idea that they cannot move on until they know they are leaving this world and those left behind in a good place. But, I equally like the idea of just getting the choice to stick around and haunt people and do spooky shit as well! As for evidence, I fully believe that children are able to see and communicate with ghosts as a result of their imagination and openness to things they don't fully understand. When we were younger, we would go to visit my grandfathers grave every Christmas Eve and every time we went we would catch my younger sister talking to "people" that weren't there. She would also often point out "people" and describe what they looked like- like the one time she described a man who was dressed in a green uniform and pointed to the place where there were a row of unmarked war graves. Now tell me ghosts aren't real!?!

The way I see it- what's to say ghosts aren't real, I am definitely open to the idea of the supernatural and ghosts in particular. Maybe I should start my own show and be the next Yvette Fielding!

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Supernatural and any ghost stories/ encounters you have!

Till next time,

  1. I was always fascinated by the idea but on the fence about how much I believed. When I moved into residence first year University that all changed. I was living with a new roommate that I had never met before. We had unpacked a few things, but crashed the first night with most of our stuff still in boxes. That night during the night she woke me up freaking out because she swore she saw a man in our room. I calmed her down and we all went back to bed, but I was trying to figure out just what she could have seen that made her think that - or maybe she was just seeing things? The next day as we were unpacking I pulled a framed picture out of my box and put it up on the shelf over my desk. She immediately went completely pale and told me that the man in the picture was the man she had seen in our room... the picture was of my father who passed away when I was 15. I was always a daddy's girl, so I can't say I was surprised to find out that he was there with me during such a big life change!

  2. I've not had any supernatural experieinces of my own but I am open to the idea. I king of would think it would be less of an afterlife and more just our energy leaving echos, no ability to interact or conciousness. Not sure I believe or would want to believe in an afterlife.

  4. I have the same stand point really, I don’t believe but I don’t not believe - I just believe with subjects like the supernatural etc that people will believe what they want to believe and that’s it really! Love your photo for this post girl x
