TO THE FAIR

Isn't there just something about the fair?! There is a fair held in my hometown every year and whilst I am not a fan of rides, I love going to look at the all the lights and eat all of the food!
In Nottingham we have The Goose Fair every single year and I always remember asking my mum why it was called goose fair because I thought it was a pretty weird name for a funfair! It turns out the reason that it's called The Goose Fair was because in the 1400s geese were sold by huntsman at the grounds. I love that we have a tradition of the fair being there every year and it just creates such a great atmosphere- each year I spot something new that has been added and it's just a great night!

Knowing I was going to the fair, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to take some shots amongst the rides and lights! I really like the contrast of the dark backgrounds and lights and my camera has a setting for this kind of scene so I thought it would be perfect! I did struggle to get photos and it definitely is harder to shoot the darker it is - but I think they came out pretty well! The weather is starting to get colder now, so this was the perfect opportunity for me to break out the vintage faux fur coat I managed to get my hands on a couple of years ago at a vintage fair and the beret I have fallen in love with! I love wearing hats but since getting a fringe, I've struggled to find a hat that doesn't mess my fringe up- so a beret is the perfect hat for me!

I even managed to get behind the camera (where I feel the most comfortable) to take some shots that I'm super proud of! It feels a lil weird to not be posting Halloween content but I have been waiting well over a month to share these shots with you all!

Till next time,

  1. Ah this looks so cool! And great idea to take some outfit photos while you were at it, I had no idea they'd come out looking this awesome in such a dark setting! Makes me wish we had fairs in my town...
