TAKING SOME TIME OUT

Time. The thing I'm sure a lot of us feel isn't long enough. I constantly feel like I have a million and one things to do and not enough hours in a day to do them all in! Anyone feel like their brain and life has been working overtime and sending them into overdrive? This post is all about reminding ourselves about the importance of sometimes just switching off and taking some time out to de stress our brains.

Life can be tough and extremely busy. At times, it can feel like you can't get the right balance of everything going on, like you're trying to juggle to many things or balance too many different spinning plates. I definitely know I do what with work, blogging, social events, appointments, family, managing my anxiety... oh and not forgetting finding time to somehow sleep, eat healthy and drink enough water - it can be physically and mentally exhausting! I feel like my brain is constantly on full speed thinking about what I've got to do next or mentally making a list of all the tasks and jobs I need to complete in my head! I feel like we are all guilty of placing too much pressure on ourselves to give our most in our lives - to create the best content we can, to give 110% at work, to always make time to help our pals and family out. Which is great! We all try so hard to do our best and to give our best all the time but in doing that we sometimes can forget about one important person - ourselves.

In being so busy and trying to do a million and one different things at the same time, we can forget to look after ourselves and I'm not just talking about the basics we often forget but letting our minds just switch off and reset for a while. One thing I'm learning to prioritize is taking some time away from everything and letting my brain just... rest. Not thinking about the pressures of work or Instagram engagement or my blogging schedule. Just taking some time to myself away from everything and everyone, to just take some time out and stop. To appreciate what I have in my life and let my brain chill out for a while.

If we let ourselves, we can become so caught up in the busyness and stress of everyday life until we can't take it anymore! I'm learning that it's okay to not tick everything off my to do list, to not give in to the pressure of feeling like I never have enough time. That it's completely necessary to take time out and just... be. Time is a funny thing and I'm slowly trying to regain control of how I spend mine.

Till next time,

  1. I felt so much of this post. I'm the type of person that always needs to feel like I'm being productive. I create crazy long to do lists and then feel bad when not everything is completed. I love what you said about not worrying about stats and engagement. That's definitely something that can cause a person stress, myself included!

  3. Some really beautiful photos of you in this post, Robyn <3

Getting the balance right is the work of a lifetime, but these hazy, sunny days are made for lounging around in fields.
