What are you looking for?
26 June 2019

Anybody else have a wardrobe that's about to burst, yet they continue to wear the same outfit on repeat? Because same. I have so many clothes, yet I always tend to wear the same outfit.

I feel like a lot of us have a go to outfit, the outfit that just feels like us. I will never feel more me than dressed in a striped tee and limited colour. The thing I’ve learnt about fashion over the years, is that you feel your best when you are in clothes that feel comfortable. I’m not just talking about feeling physically comfortable in the clothes you’re in - but comfortable as in your clothes feel like you, they are representative of who you are as a person. I feel like I’ve spent my entire blogging “career” (can we even call it that?!) banging on about personal style being a chance to embrace who you are and be proud of what makes you different. However, I feel like it’s kinda become my mission to spread this message and scream it from behind my laptop screen because to me fashion will always be more than just clothes. It’s art. It’s a form of self expression. I feel like when we think about fashion as art or as self expression we automatically think of over the top, extravagant outfits. Whilst this is all part of self expression, sometimes the most simplest outfits can feel the most us.
Sometimes my most casual and “dressed down” outfits are the ones where I feel the most me. This outfit is my go to because I feel so comfortable within both the clothes and my style this represents. I will never feel more me than when I’m wearing a pair of ripped jeans, a striped top and a pair Dr Martens. They share my love and style in such an understated way and I love that about this outfit. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect ripped jeans for so long and I couldn’t find any that where what I was looking for. I was on the hunt for a pair of black jeans that had a pretty large knee rip but also didn’t go OTT with how ripped they actually were. All the jeans I kept seeing in this style were blue and as I you can probably tell - blue jeans aren’t my typical thing. I then stumbled across these jeans in Topshop and they are perfect! They’re exactly what I have been looking for and I’ve been living in them ever since. I have found these jeans so easy to style and create the perfect casual grunge outfit, that shares my love for black clothing and tough girl style in a casual and chilled back way.

Striped Tee - H&M // Ripped Mom Jeans - Topshop // Boots - Dr Martens // Hair - Great Lengths // Watch - ADEXEwatches // Rings - BloodyMaryMetal, Regal Rose and RocknRose

I’ve really been enjoying relaxing my style with more casual outfits recently and really wanted to share this on my blog. Isn’t that the whole point of this - to share my daily style and well this is pretty much the only outfit I wear at the minute! Let me know if you have a go to outfit that just feels like home and what it is!
Till next time,
