What are you looking for?

Hi. Hello. How've you been? I feel like it's been so long since I last wrote a proper blogpost, and I feel like I owe you an explanation as to why I kinda just dropped off the face of the blogosphere.

The truth is... I hate the current state of blogging. I hate the competition, the comparison to others, the battle of who can get the most collaborations or work with the biggest brands . It just all seemed way to "industry" for my liking. Don't get me wrong, I am beyond happy for other bloggers success and how much of an impact blogging and influencers are having, it's crazy! However, you can be made to feel like if you aren't reaching for the mega crazy desire to make this a career or to be a part of the ever growing industry, then what's the point in trying?

And I guess in part, that explains why I've been gone for a while. Blogging has and will always be a hobby for me. I have no want to make this a career and definitely don't see myself ever wanting to be a full time blogger. Over the summer, I could feel myself becoming more and more caught up in the blogging industry and spent most of my time either worrying about the look of my photos, how many likes my instagram pictures were getting or about how I could get brands to work with me. I needed to step back, take a look at blogging for what it was and really just have a reality check.

I've missed blogging. I've missed shooting outfits, writing posts about areas that interest me and feeling like I have a platform where I can share. But I've had some time to think about blogging and where I want to fit in the blogging world and I've decided that I don't. I don't want to fit in. It's something I've never been good at, so I've decided to stop trying. I've been thinking about when I fell in love with blogging and how blogging used to be back when I started. I had the best fun planning outfits and then shooting them in my garden against a brick wall! My photos weren't professional, they didn't have cool backgrounds, my editing skills were next to none, my posts got around 50 views but I didn't care.

I've decided that in order to save my blog, I want to take a real approach to blogging. To take away the bullshit and just be real! I want to share my outfits in a more casual way, to talk about what's happening in my life as it happens and to write about what I want to, when I want to. No schedules, no niches, no pressure. I want to do a complete 360 and take my blog back to how it was when I first started. Back when I thought blogging was fun!

Want to see what I'm on about? Here are some of my first blog posts, way way back in the day!

So, expect a lot more daily outfits I actually wear, photos shot in my bedroom and *shock horror* taken on my phone, a huge range of post topics and well just an authentic blog all about what I like. Time to take things back to the beginning.

Till next time,
