What are you looking for?

The sun and a disco ball is a match made in heaven and I couldn't resist creating a little vintage throwback vibe! I've been feeling all the creative energy when it comes to shooting content recently and I have truly fallen back in love with blogging and creating content. I couldn't be happier with the photos in this post and feel they are my best to date!

For those of you who have been reading my blog a while, you might recognise this prop. And for anyone that is new, a few years ago I went through a little bit of a phase of trying to include my disco ball in as much content as possible and it became a bit of a thing and I even had "disco ball enthusiast" in my bios for a while! Well, I thought seeing as I'm stuck in isolation, I would bring the ball back out and have some fun getting creative. These photos I actually shot for another post I have going live in the next few days about tips and tricks for shooting content at home. However, I loved how these photos came out and I couldn't not share them in a post. And give you guys a little sneak peek about what's to come for that post, I'm really excited for you to read it and hopefully try out some of what I've been doing.

Since lockdown, I have really thrown myself back into creating content and I feel so good! I guess, a positive of this is that I have some extra time to actually think and shoot content for my blog and SM platforms. As much as I am missing my job, my work family and most of all my class, I'm really enjoying having some time to myself to reflect and get creative. I've been "thinking outside the box" when it comes to blog photos and thinking about how I can play around and have fun with my photos. I'm going to talk more about this in my shooting content at home post but I've especially loved playing around with light and shadow, making the most of the beautiful sun we've been having. This time, I took it outside and the way the sun reflects off the disco ball to play with the light takes these photos to another level. I couldn't be happier with how they turned out!

Getting creative with my hair and makeup has also been another way I've been keeping myself occupied. I used to use a chopstick curler on my hair a lot before I got my extensions and just haven't used it since. So, I decided to try it out again and 45 minutes later... I've been thrown back into the 70s! I know what some of you will be thinking because honestly I thought the same thing - finally, eyeshadow that isn't red or orange - see I can do something different! I attempted a blue eyeshadow and double liner look and it wasn't a complete disaster! I am very much guilty for getting stuck in a routine and habit, especially when I have a limited time in the morning to get ready and I pretty much go for the exact same hair and makeup style every day. I've really loved having a little extra time to try something different and get a little creative with trying new styles of makeup.

Did anyone notice, how I'm wearing two outfits in these photos? If you did, gold star! Haha the sun was a little too lovely and I was getting super warm. I am stoked with how these photos turned out! I couldn't wait to share them with you all, so I hope you like them as much as I do. Getting creative during lockdown has been a bit of a blessing in disguise and has fuelled my passion for creating content. And if you are wanting to know how to shoot content yourself at home, my post on that should be going live on Sunday Evening - so look out for that!

How have you been getting creative this lockdown?

Till next time,
